How do I introduce my pet onto the recommended ROYAL CANIN® diet?
When introducing your pet onto ROYAL CANIN®, as with any diet change, we recommend that you gradually introduce the new diet over 5 – 7 days to prevent any digestive upset.
We suggest:
- Mix 25% of your new diet with 75% of your pet’s previous diet for 2 or 3 days
- Then mix the two diets 50% and 50% for 2 or 3 days
- Then mix 75% of the new diet with 25% of the previous diet for 2 or 3 days
- You can now try feeding with 100% of the new diet.
If you know that your pet suffers with a sensitive digestion, you may also wish to follow this guide for an easy transition of the same product from the current bag to the new bag but over a shorter period of around 3-4 days.
